Vantage: Optimizing Advanced SQL Engine through Physical Design

Course Description

This course provides learners the opportunity to optimize implementation of a Teradata Vantage New SQL Engine system using physical database design ideal practices. Simulating a mixed workload environment, learners will apply various physical design tactics to meet a set of specified service percentage & throughput service level goals.

During this hands-on training, students will implement a mixed workload simulation & analyze the results. Based on that analysis, learners will balance the performance characteristics of different workloads to execute a set of performance objectives.

 

Prerequisites

To get the maximum out of this training, one should have at least one of the following courses / course combinations or have the comparable experience:

  • Teradata Factory Xpress (56749),
  • Teradata Database Administration (57040),
  • Teradata Concepts and MPP System Architecture (49823),
  • Physical Database Design (49824),
  • Teradata Database Administration (49826)
  • Also learners should have fundamental Teradata SQL Knowledge

Target Audience

​This course is developed for Teradata associates, partners and Teradata DBAs who have little working knowledge with TASM & need technical expertise to optimize system performance via  physical design.
