Kubernetes Administration (LFS458)

Course Description

This training covers the core concepts typically used to build & administer a Kubernetes cluster in production using vendor-independent tools. We build a cluster, determine network configuration, grow the cluster, deploy applications & configure the storage, security & other objects necessary for typical use. This training offers exposure to the many skills necessary to administer Kubernetes in the production environment & is excellent preparation for Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam.

Prerequisites

Professionals should have an understanding of Linux administration skills, comfortable using the command line. Must be able to edit files using a command-line text editor.

Target Audience

This training is ideal for those wishing to manage a containerized application infrastructure. This includes existing IT administrators, as well as those looking to start a cloud career.

Learning Objectives

In this training, you will learn about the installation of a multi-node Kubernetes cluster with the help of kubeadm, & how to grow a cluster, choose & implementing cluster networking, & various methods of application lifecycle management, including scaling, updates & roll-backs. The training also covers configuring security both for the cluster & containers, managing storage available to containers, monitoring, logging & troubleshooting of containers & the cluster, configuring scheduling & affinity of container deployments, using Helm & Charts to automate application deployment, & understanding Federation for fault-tolerance & higher availability.
