Course Description
This tutorial teaches you how to completely install IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 8.1. Through lectures and in-depth hands-on practise, you learn every step needed to complete an installation, including hardware sizing, confirming software prerequisites, building, creation of ObjectServers, installation of probes, installation of gateways, configuring high availability, and deploying historical event reporting. You put your knowledge to the test throughout the course by working through numerous hands-on activities that reinforce the concepts covered in the classes. Red Hat Linux is the platform used in the lab for this course.
Prerequisites
You should have the following skills:
- Understanding the fundamentals of databases, such as language constructs, database versus table versus column, and triggers
- Practical knowledge of Network Fault Management
- Practical knowledge of UNIX & typical UNIX-based tools
- Course on using IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus V8.1 or similar expertise
