IBM MQ V9 System Administration (Using Windows for labs)

Course Description

The knowledge and abilities required to manage IBM MQ queue managers on distributed operating systems & in the Cloud are taught in this course for technical professionals. In addition to the instructor-led lectures, you participate in hands-on lab exercises designed to reinforce lecture content. The lab exercises use IBM MQ V9.0, giving you practical experience with tasks such as handling queue recovery, implementing security, & problem determination.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of IBM MQ V9 concepts & features, obtained either through experience or by completing Technical Introduction to IBM MQ (WM103G) or Technical Introduction to IBM MQ (ZM103G)

Ability to invoke standard functions within the operating system that is used in the lab exercises

Some knowledge of TCP/IP configuration

Target Audience

Technical workers who need to run IBM MQ queue managers on distributed operating systems, in the Cloud, or on the IBM MQ Appliance should take this course.

Learning Objectives

Following this course, you ought to be able to:

  • Describe the IBM MQ deployment options
  • Plan for the implementation of IBM MQ on-premises or in the Cloud
  • Use IBM MQ commands & the IBM MQ Explorer to create & manage queue managers, queues, & channels
  • Use the IBM MQ sample programs & utilities to test the IBM MQ network

FAQs

Any sort of data can be transported as messages using IBM MQ, allowing companies to create flexible, reusable structures like service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments. It enables the delivery of secure messages across a wide range of computing systems, programmes, web services, and communications protocols. For visibility and management of the flow of messages and data both inside and outside your business, IBM MQ offers a communications layer.

IBM MQ provides:

  • Flexible mainframe-to-mobile messaging connection that offers a solitary, reliable communications backbone for dynamic heterogeneous contexts
  • Delivery of messages with strong security features and verifiable outcomes.
  • High-performance message delivery to increase the speed and reliability of data delivery.
  • Administrative features that simplify messaging management & reduce time spent using complex tools.
  • Open standards development tools that support extensibility & business growth.

There are several different ways of using IBM MQ, for example you can:

Create & manage IBM MQ with the MQ Explorer GUI or by running commands from a command window or application.

Program applications to send & receive messages by calling one of the programming interfaces. Programming interfaces are provided for different languages, & include the standard JMS programming interface, & classes for the Windows communication foundation.

Send & receive IBM MQ messages from browsers with the HTTP protocol.
