Course Overview
In this course, one will learn how to use the most common FortiGate networking & infrastructure features.
Topics include components commonly applied in complex or larger enterprise or MSSP networks, such as virtual domains (VDOMs), advanced routing, redundant infrastructure, zero trust network access (ZTNA), site-to-site IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, single sign-on (SSO), & diagnostics.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of OSI layers
- Understanding of firewall concepts in an IPv4 network
- Understanding of the fundamentals of FortiGate, as presented in the FortiGate Security course

Networking & security professionals involved in the design, implementation, & administration of a network infrastructure utilizing FortiGate devices should attend this course.
This course assumes knowledge of fundamental FortiGate fundamentals. One should have a thorough understanding of all the topics included in the FortiGate Security course before following the FortiGate Infrastructure course.

- Analyze a FortiGate route table
- Route packets utilizing policy-based and static routes for multipath & load-balanced deployments
- Divide FortiGate into 2 or more virtual devices, each acting as an independent FortiGate, by configuring virtual domains (VDOMs)
- Comprehend the fundamentals & benefits of using ZTNA
- Offer an SSL VPN for protected access to your private network
- Establish an IPsec VPN tunnel between 2 FortiGate devices
- Apply a meshed or partially redundant VPN
