DB2 11 for zOS Database Administration Workshop Part-2

Course Description

The different features that database administrators need to be knowledgeable with as DB2 11 for z/OS Database Administrators are covered in this course. These consist of user-defined functions, temporal and archive-enabled tables, partition management, stored procedures, triggers, and programme preparation. The course includes a lot of practical exercises that provide the students experience with the covered topics. Also covered in the course appendices are schemas and user-defined data types, clone tables, materialised query tables, big objects, global variables, row permissions, and column masks. Following CV832: IBM DB2 11 for z/OS Database Administration Workshop Part 1, this course is a continuation of that course's content. Note that this course lasts for three days. The instructor can go over the optional appendices if he has time. The preceding course, CV832 - IBM DB2 11 for zOS Database Administration Workshop Part-1, serves as a prerequisite for this one. This three-day course is in its entirety. The optional appendices can be discussed as the lecturer sees fit if he has time.

FAQs

IBM created the Db2 family of data management tools, which includes database servers. Although it was originally designed to serve the relational model, it has now been expanded to include object-relational functionality as well as non-relational structures like JSON and XML.

You can realize the benefits of using Db2 Multisystem in several ways:

Query performance can be improved by running in parallel (pieces of the query are run simultaneously on different systems).

The need for data replication decreases because all of the systems can access all of the data.

Much larger database files can be accommodated.

Applications are no longer concerned with the location of remote data.

When growth is needed, you can redistribute the file across more systems, and applications can run unchanged on the new systems
