Vantage: Optimizing Advanced SQL Engine through Workload Management

Course Description

This course delivers students the chance to optimize implementation of a Teradata Vantage Advanced SQL Engine system using the Teradata Active System Management tool (TASM). Simulating a mixed workload environment, learners apply various workload managing rules to meet a set of defined service percentage & throughput service level goals.

During this hands-on training, learners will execute Mixed Workload simulations, analyze the results, then utilize Workload Designer to apply diverse TASM rules, such as, Filters & Throttles.

Prerequisites

To get the maximum out of this training, one should have the following knowledge or experience.

  • Preface to the Teradata Database
  • Teradata SQL
  • Teradata Physical Database Design
  • Teradata Physical Database Tuning
  • Teradata Parallel Transporter
  • Teradata Database Administration

Target Audience

This course is developed for Teradata Associates, Customers, and Partners who have less experience with the TASM tool and require technical information about how to optimize system performance through workload management.
