Assisting Java SE programmers in creating Java EE applications

Red Hat Application Development-I: Experienced Java Standard Edition (Java SE) developers can learn about Java Enterprise Edition by taking the test (AD184) and programming.

Red Hat® Enterprise Application Platform 7.0 is the foundation of this course. Red Hat Application Development-I: Programming in Java EE (AD183) and the Red Hat Certified Enterprise Application Developer Exam (EX183) are combined into this course.

You will learn about the several specifications that make up Java EE in this course. You will use various Java EE specifications, such as Enterprise Java Beans, Java Persistence API, Java Messaging Service, JAX-RS for REST services, Contexts and Dependency Injection (CDI), and JAAS for application security, to transform a straightforward Java SE command line application into a multi-tiered enterprise application through hands-on labs.

 

Prerequisites for this course

  • Proficiency in developing Java SE applications, with 2+ years of experience required
  • Proficiency in using an IDE such as Red Hat Developer Studio or Eclipse
  • Experience with Maven is recommended but not required
