Course Description
This course provides students the opportunity to optimize performance of a Teradata Vantage Advanced SQL Engine system utilizing the Teradata Active System Management tool (TASM). Simulating a mixed workload environment, students apply various workload management rules to meet a set of defined service percentage and throughput service level goals.
During this hands-on training, students will execute Mixed Workload simulations, analyze the results, then use Workload Designer to apply various TASM rules, such as, Filters and Throttles.

To get the most out of this training, you should have the following knowledge or experience.

Target Audience
This course is designed for Teradata Associates, Customers, and Partners who have little experience with the TASM tool and need technical information about how to optimize system performance through workload management.

- Use the State Matrix to detect and adapt to environmental changes
- Control user sessions and utilities
- Use Filters to dynamically control and restrict access
- Use Throttles to dynamically control the number of queries and utilities
