This two-day instructor-led training program is intended for IT professionals who are responsible for developing a management strategy for mobile devices in the enterprise.  Devices running iOS, Android and Windows operating systems will be covered.  Utilizing various Microsoft technologies professionals will create a mobile device plan, configure mobile device manage and management and master both data security as well as connectivity on these devices.  With migration to BYOD (bring your own device) it is necessary that enterprises enable users to access information from a different devices with a least amount of risk to the loss of that information.  The new tools executed as a part of the Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012 as well as System Center will enable for a complete set of BYOD enterprise policies.

Pre-requisite

Before attending this training program, professionals must have:

  • Fundamental acknowledging of TCP/IP and networking concepts.

  • Fundamental experience with a mobile device and mobile operating system.

This training program is intended for IT professionals who have experience with mobile devices and some version of Windows client and server operating systems.  Previous experience with management tools for example Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager would also be valuable but is not needed.

In past organizations either provided smart phones or laptops approved by the Information Technology department and or enabled users to connect from their Windows based computers utilizing options such as VPNs or Remote Desktop Gateways.  These options still exist and remain common.  However, the incredible growth of mobile devices from various vendors creates a requirement for maintaining and managing access to data and apps from these devices.  Organizations must determine the best methods for doing so in a secure manner.

Lesson 2: Mobile Device Management Strategy and Infrastructure

Every organization has unique required for connecting mobile devices to corporate network to optimize user productivity.  Based on the principle of People-centric IT (PCIT) a mobile device strategy can be created to meet those requirements.  Once the strategy has been planned then it’s time to create the infrastructure.

Lesson 3: Workplace Join and Work Folders

Enabling device connectivity is essential, but more essential is managing and maintaining connectivity.  Workplace Join enables a way to control and track which devices can connect.  Once connected users will required access to data, no matter the device.  That data must be consistent as well as current without users manually copying files.  Work Folders creates this ability.
